Experience
I have practiced employment law, representing employers exclusively, for more than 37 years. While building my practice I taught employment law in New York University’s School of Law’s Masters Program in Labor Law as an adjunct assistant professor of law. I have seen, interpreted, advised on and, when the situation called for it, litigated just about every conceivable employment law issue, particularly those cases presenting national origin, race, religion, sex, and sexual harassment matters, wrongful discharge cases, union organizing, grievances and separation from employment matters of every stripe.
Services
I see myself as an always on-call resource for corporate human resource departments. Thus, for a wide range of clients, both large and small, I regularly:
- Provide updates and personalized newsletters to keep human resource personnel on top of current legislation and relevant legal developments;
- Consult on employee and executive separations;
- Conduct investigations of hostile work environment and sexual harassment claims;
- Conduct seminars for supervisors in such critical areas as Americans with Disabilities and Fair Labor Standards Act compliance;
- Respond to federal, state and local human rights agency complaints and investigations; and
- When there is no viable alternative, mount cost-efficient defenses to lawsuits.
I promise each client the following:
1. I will return your call within the hour if possible; certainly by no later than the end of the day.
2. I make it a point to provide regular updates and status reports to you; I will always provide immediate copies of all relevant documents, correspondence and pleadings; and I pride myself that no client is ever left in the dark about the progress of its matter.
3. I will not overstaff matters. I have found over the years that it generally requires only one attorney to represent a client at meeting, a conference before a judge or at a deposition. I will not send out teams of attorneys where one will do.
4. Finally, when you retain our firm you always get me on a 24/7 basis – not a junior partner, associate, or an assistant – to answer your calls, to provide direct guidance to you and either to handle or actively to direct every single aspect of every single case.
